TOMORROWAT NOON (2-5-10): MOTIVATION'S NEW ERA RELEASE
so happy for @mtvtn on their very own New Era release. They've always killed it with the fitteds, and I'm proud to know them as well as the quality that they put out. I'm probably gonna only wear boutique fitteds from now on.
"We gave you a preview last week and now we are proud to announce the release of our first in-house designed Motivation New Era fitted hats! Named the "Ornate M" New Era, these feature our Ornate M logo in two-color raised embroidery on the front of the hat, and our classic text logo in flat embroidery on the back. We will be releasing them this Friday February 5th, 2010 at Noon at our retail location, and they will be available in 3 colorways (including the 2 pictured). Each colorway is limited to 30 pieces produced and the hats will retail at $40 each.
Since we are so well known for our hats, and these are our first store hats, we have had a ton of requests for these and they most likely will sell out over the weekend. We cannot unfortunately hold anyone's sizes. Whatever does not sell out on Friday 2/5 will be made available online for purchase on Saturday 2/6. If you are not a local customer and wish to purchase a hat, you may call our retail location on 2/5 to place a phone order -- or you can risk waiting until 2/6 to purchase any of the sizes that may be left online. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you on Friday!

RECAP: CHIP THA RIPPER MEET & GREET/CONCERT
big shout-out to @Chip216 @SLABUP & @getstroked for the opportunity. Got the opportunity to host the Chip Tha Ripper concert in Studio 4 in Ann Arbor last friday. A very good look. On to the pics:
the meet and greet at Motivation was a dope turnout

Motivation's infamous back wall

So the homie Fowl opened the show. For those of you that don't know, he's only a freshman up at Michigan State, and has BARS ON DECK. I don't normally co-sign a whole lot of people, but dude got my support.

I can't even explain what FowL really did... well I can, but I don't want to... y'all just have to be on the lookout when he's in your area. This pic that was taken was one of the illest of the evening in my eyes.

"Cliff, you betta put this shit on your blog!" ...I got you!

So Chip hits the stage, and I bullshit you not, halfthe crowd put one in the air.
This pic doesn't so the smoke justice, lol... at one point,I couldn't even see in front of me, haha.
Chip killed it though
Big Sean came through and did ''Fat Raps"

once again, a big thank you to Michael from Stroke and Big Duke. whatupdoe homie.

Shout-out to Kev from Slab Up for having the intestinal fortitude to rock an Ohio State jacket in Ann Arbor like a champion.

NEW ARTWORK FROM JAMES GRADY
Not to boost his ego or be bias or anything, haha, but my friend James Grady is possibly one of the greatest young artists of our generation. About 10 days ago, I received an email from him which I'm posting here unabridged. His work is amazing. I suggest you get hip to him or be on the bandwagon when he's outchea...

Acrylic on Canvas
I started this painting in November of 2008, about a week or two after my Father was killed (November 4, 2008.) I worked on it for about two weeks before I took a 9 month break from it, and completed the painting in December 2009. The painting has gone through a few transformations in appearance and in meaning (as far as who/what it addresses.) The painting has little to do with Michael Jackson, I casted him to play my role in my simulated reality. In a sense i still use him in the context of the entertainer, a person to amuse and provoke the viewer, some one to be looked at....
I use “icons,” popular commodities and their human counterparts, the celebrity as metaphors or tropes for human desire and over consumption. I feel as though these pop emblems epitomize that concept and the moral "story" i was hinting at; they reference sex, drugs, alcohol or things we (or at least I) recognize or consider to be satisfying and/or comforting in a “time of need,” but those things aren’t necessarily in our best interest and may lead to one's downfall or demise."

OFF A LIL SUNDAY BRUNCH
I'M BACK NOW! TAKEOVER, BREAK'S OVER. haha, anyways, weekend Bunch has turned into a tradition at my apartment. All of my roommates' schedules are all over the place, and the weekend gives us that time to relax and catch on what everybody's got goin. In college, moments like that keep you the most balanced at times. Plus, we all can cook, so it's always good.

RECAP: SATURDAY AT AEPi
My homie @rodney_eighty81 got the call from @j_weathers on the batphone last thursday. Next thing you know rodney and I are DJ'ing and hosting a party at AEPi. I love AEPi. They show rodney and I the most love out of all the groups up at MSU. Once again, shout-out to the homie Weathers for helping me search all over East Lansing to get a microphone so I can host this party.
I've said it before and continue to say it. To the rest of Michigan State: if you want your party to bang out, I suggest you call either me or Rodney ASAP.
Proof's in the pudding right?

Shout-out to my fam from MSU's hoop team Durrell and Kalin for comin through to support

RECAP: MIKE POSNER IN DAYTON
No lie, my Christmas break was goin pretty shitty. Everything was moving pretty slow, and I had to get out of Michigan for a second. Anyways, ever since the release of "A Matter Of Time", my friend Mike Posner alwasy told about how the people at University of Dayton rock so hard, and I didn't believe him at all... until last Saturday that is. I drove down to Dayton to kick it with Mike. I haven't seen him in a minute, and he's been busy with gigs and workin on his album, which is amazing.
Before I stop at the hotel, I peeped this pizza spot.

Come to find out they're gonna be on my favorite show "MAN VS. FOOD" <---yuuup, that's a Skighwalker exclusive by the way, lol
The Chicken Barbecue was the winner

Sound check at the venue....everyone was WIRED, lol

One thing about Mike is that he always shows his supporters love...ALWAYS, no matter how busy he may be.

Took a quick nap, and got to the venue. It was packed.

Mike came out, and it was holy ghost, speakin tongues crazy in there.

People packed out on the stripper pole too.

I was recording on a flip cam and tryin to snap flicks at the same time. One thing I noticed about Mike is that he's always improving, performance-wise and musically too.

Customized Dayton Jersey. Dope.

Supporters of the blog in Dayton. Thank y'all!
Big shout-out to Pos' for lettin me tag along. Preciate it homie...and good luck to everything coming up in the future. To everybody reading, wait till you hear Mike's new music. It's gonna be crazy!

REST IN POWER TEDDY P
I hate bringing up death on here, but this came out of nowhere and hit me harder than I expected. Let's be honest, most of us twenty-somethings were conceived while a Teddy track was playin. Hell I know I was (as painful as it is when my mind wraps around the though of me being conceived). Anyways, Rest In Power to one of illest ever heard.

RECAP: THE MONICA BLAIRE EXPERIMENT & MARVWON'S "WAYNE FONTES" RELEASE PARTY
So last Friday I was blessed to catch Monica Blaire at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Now I have seen Ms. Blaire numerous times, but never with a live band. She did two evening shows & packed both out...yes people...even the upper level, lol.
Anyways, Monica's energy is already crazy, but this live band took this shit to a whole 'notha level. I know place her in the "Can Do No Wrong" category moving past Alicia Keys, Chrisette Michele, and Nikki Jean..... TRUE FUCKIN STORY.

Then Big Bro came out, tapped, and kill it....didn't know Rick got down like that did you?

Marvwon dropped some BARS as well...

Right after I shot a move to The Shelter to MarvWon's "Wayne Fontes" Release Party. KrackDiesel and JFin hit the stage....

Then my homie Jwan...

Heyyyyy Monica

Miz Korona came through rippin.

Arguably one of my favorite performances of the night went to Danny Brown. I can't even describe it. Just know that if Danny Brown is ever performing in your area, you must catch it.

Dwele and my fam

First time meeting Royce ...one of the coolest

Marvwon's time......KILLED IT. Go get his latest project "WAYNE FONTES" in BURN RUBBER RIGHT NOW!

TAZ ARNOLD "TI$AVISION" (EPISODE 1)
@BaileybRobertS whatupdoe! Anyways, mad respect to Taz... shit's too illy.
"The word “crazy” gets tossed around unduly when speaking of people who may be on another wavelength or maybe even ahead of their time. The non-linear thought process of ‘tAz Arnold aka Ti$a’ has definitely garnered him the “crazy” moniker but his ability to curb that right brain thinking into efforts such as music and clothing would brand him more as an eccentric due to his ability to harness his creativity. From working with musicians such as Kanye West, Herbie Hancock, Erykah Badu, Iggy Pop and his own group, SA-RA Creative Partners to fashion brands such as MCM and Kanye West’s now defunct Pastelle, ‘tAz has proven that just because they can’t understand you doesn’t mean you’re not making sense. Creative Control spent some time with Ti$a’ in his L.A. studio to find a method to his perceived madness"
